Privacy Policy

There are different ways you share information with us. When you share your information, you are helping us to create even better service for you. We just want you to be clear how we use them and how you can protect your privacy.

1. Information we receive

   1. Registration information

      When you voluntarily create an account, we will ask for personal information like your name, email address, gender and birthday.

   2. Information via SNS

      When you login or sign up with third-party social network sites (SNS) (including but not limited to, Facebook) via our service. What information we receive depends on your Facebook privacy settings. By using Facebook Connect, you allow us to access your personal information on your Facebook profile, and to post recent activities back to your Facebook. You have at anytime the option to disable Facebook Connect.

2. Information we receive from your use of our service.

   We may also receive information about the service that you use and the way you use it

   1. Metadata

      We receive some data such as the time and date you post something on Ubook

   2. Device information

      We receive data from the device you use to access Ubook (including when multiple users log in from the same devices). This information may be the type of browser you are using or your IP address.

   3. Features

      We also receive data from different features you use within Ubook.

   4. Log information

      We receive data and store some certain information in server logs whether as a registered user or a visitor. This may include:
      • Data of how you used our service
      • Device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browsertype and browser language
      • Cookies that may identify your browser

   5. Local storage

      We may receive and store information locally on your device using mechanisms such as browser web storage (including HTML 5) and application data caches.

   6. Cookies

      We use cookies like many other online services to receive information. A cookie is a small file that is transferred to your device. Some of our features may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. However if you want, you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is sent.

3. Public Information

   By “public information” we mean information and content that are publicly visible (for everyone). The following is publicly visible:

   1. Salons name, profile picture and profile cover photo.
   2. Salons name and profile photo on search results.

4. How we use the information we receive

   We use the information to provide, maintain, and improve Ubook, and to protect both Ubook and our users. The information can also be used to provide better content to you as a user. We may keep a record of your communication with Ubook to help solve issues you might face in the future. We may use your email for updates and notifications. We will use received information from cookies to improve your experience as a user.

   We will always ask for your consent before using information for a purpose other than those mentioned here in this Privacy Policy.

   The information we receive may process on a server outside the country where you live.

5. Information we share

   1. With your consent

      We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Ubook only when we have your permission to do so. We require opt-in consent for sharing of sensitive personal information.

   2. With third party and service providers

      We may share some aggregated, non-identifying information and log information (that does not include your personal information) with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other purpose.

      We may employ individuals or third party companies to provide the service on our behalf, to perform services (maintenance, database management, web analytics and improvement of the service’s features), to facilitate our service or to assist us in analyzing how our service is used. The third parties and individuals may have access to your information only to perform these tasks and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

   3. For legal reasons

      We are cooperating with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. That is why we may share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Ubook if we believe that the use, access preservation or disclosure of the information is necessary to:
      • Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
      • Enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
      • Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
      • Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of our users, Ubook, the public as required or permitted by law.

   4. With business transfer

      Ubook may be transferred, assigned, shared or engaged in a transaction that involves some or all of our assets (including information described in this Privacy Policy). This also includes merger, corporate divestiture, acquisition, joint venture, bankruptcy or any other similar transaction or processing.

6. Your choice and transparency

   1. Email communication

      Email notification and other updates sent by Ubook are very helpful, but if you no longer wish to receive emails from us, then you can always edit this function called “Email Notification” in your settings page.

   2. SNS

      Our service is better when connected to Facebook but you can always disable this function called “Facebook Connect” in your settings page.

   3. Cookies

      Some of our features may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. However if you want, you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is sent.

   4. Changing or deleting your account

      If you wish to change or delete your personal information or stop using your account then you can always delete your account with a link called “Delete Account” in your settings page. Some information may remain in backup copies and log as required by law or for legitimate business purpose for up to 30 days

7. Links to third-party sites and services

   Ubook contain links to other third-party websites and online services. By clicking on these links you will be leaving our service and directed to the third-party’s website or online service. This is not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third-party, and nor is it an endorsement of their privacy policy, Terms or information security policies. When you leave our service and enter third-party’s websites or online services, then you are no longer connected to our service and should follow the third-party’s rules, terms and privacy policies.

8. Information security

   We care about security of your information and work very hard to protect Ubook and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we receive. We encrypt many of our services using Secure Sockets Layer SSL). However we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information we receive or guarantee that the information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by unauthorized persons.

9. Children’s Information

   We don’t allow children under 13 years old to sign up to our service

10. Changes

    This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, and we will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your consent. We will send a notification to your email if we make any changes to this privacy policy
